Getting the right education is an important step in becoming a successful MT. Many employers require new hires to have a certain amount of experience, but there are some that will waive the experience requirement for new MTs who can demonstrate a good understanding of the industry and produce quality work. Usually these individuals have graduated from MT programs that are AHDI-approved and that provide students with actual transcription experience throughout their coursework.
